MyHeritage.com - face recognition

I'm not going to write about the whole MyHeritage site here, I just want to share about a unique feature in their website which is called Face Recognition. Ever wondered which celebrities you resemble? MyHeritage.com is one of the world's first services to apply advanced face recognition technology to personal photos and family history; and it's free! Just upload your photo and the MyHeritage face recognition technology discovers which celebrities you look like. You can either create a collage showing your very own celebrity matches, or you can create an animated morph video showing you transform into your celebrity look-alike. You can then post it on your blog or social networking page, or e-mail it to your friends. It's that easy, you don't have to be a technical person to make your very own celebrity collage, or even the animated morph video. All you have to do is a few clicks.

Now, if you're really that curious as to who your celebrity look-alikes are? Just go to http://www.myheritage.com then click Face Recognition on the main menu at the top of the page. I'm sure you'll have fun with this. I did. I created a celebrity morph to Beyonce Knowles, hahaha!

ImageLoop

Here's another slideshow maker site just like Slide.com. The slideshow maker interface is the same with Slide.com (create, save and share), they only differ in some presets, styles, skins, effects and music. I really love the stars effect which (I think) Slide.com doesn't have. In addition, Imageloop also offers Guestbooks, Myspace Friendshow (where photos of your friends in Myspace will be included in your slideshow); professional widgets such as Labloops (loop gallery) and Officeloops (for presentations); and special services such as Image hosting (unlimited) and XML Feedshow.

If you want to try Imageloop, just go to http://www.imageloop.com. You have to register first then "Create your own slideshows, free and easy!"

Blogthings

I've been visiting this site for quite some time and even tried some of their fun quizzes but to my surprise, I haven't got a single thing about them in this blog, so today, I decided to post something about them.

Blogthings has tons of quizzes for all of us to take and post in our blogs or social networking pages. I think a lot of their quizzes are for determining one's personality from what a person likes or dislikes; e.g. colors, flowers, food, fashion, traits, etc. As an example, I took a quiz called "What do the flowers you pick say about you?" and the result is below:

What These Daisies Say About You

You have a spirt of pure optimism. Your view of the world is eternally cheerful. You are bold and vibrant. Incredibly striking, you always stand out in a crowd. You are adaptable and flexible. You can thrive in almost any situation.

What Do The Flowers You Pick Say About You?

After taking the simple quiz, your results will show and below that is the code that you can copy and paste to your blog or social networking page. Easy isn't it? Now I know why this site is called Blogthings, because the quiz results are all blog things that you can post online for everyone to see to know some bits about you.

Anyway, if you want to have some blog things in your blog or social networking pages, even in your websites, or you just want to have some fun and have nothing to do, know some things about yourself without taking long personality tests, you can visit Blogthings at http://www.blogthings.com. I'm sure you'll find some quizzes that you want to take and share to everyone.

LoveMyFlash.com - Myspace layouts made by professional designers!

I learned about this site through my step-brother. He was browsing this site yesterday and he told me about it. He told me that it was quite cool that you can have flash designs as your Myspace layout (without the hassles of making one). So I checked it out myself and found out that it really is cool.

LoveMyFlash.com provides highly customizable flash templates for your Myspace page. The flash layouts they offer were created by professional web designers and flash developers. They have lot's of cool designs to choose from with categories from Abstract to Texture under Personal, and from Dance to Rock under Music. You can easily customize the look and feel of the flash templates from colors to photos through their editor. When you're done customizing, you can just copy and paste the codes needed to your Myspace page, it's that simple!

MagMyPic - Fake magazine covers with your picture

Here's another cool site that I stumbled upon in the world wide web. The site is called MagMyPic where you can have your pictures in magazine-like covers. If you dream of being in a magazine cover or just want to spice up your profile pictures, this is the site to go. You can choose up to 18 different magazines like Seventeen, Vogue, Maxim, Cosmopolitan, People, Sports Illustrated, etc. and more are added all the time. Just upload your picture to the site, browse what cover you want, what magazine you want and presto! You're in a magazine cover just like those models, businessmen, actors, actresses and other famous celebrities. You can now post your cover in any website, blog and social networking page. Just go to http://www.magmypic.com/ and have yourself in a magazine cover without any hassles. Just a note: Images to be uploaded should be in JPG, GIF or PNG and may not contain nudity, violent or offensive material. Be responsible. There are kids out there that browse the web, blog, and are registered to social networking pages.

Imikimi - Customize Your World

I stumbled on another website again and found it to be quite useful in terms of graphics for your website, blog or social networking page. This website is called Imikimi. Imikimi because this site has ton's of "Kimis" for you to customize and use. First I was clueless as to what "Kimis" are. But then found out, after searching the web, that "Kimis" are images you can make 100% in your browser.

Now, to use the "Kimis" at Imikimi, you first have to register. Then you must download the Imikimi plug-in (I think it's 1MB) and install it in your computer. That plug-in will be used to run the customization interface of this website. You have to download it in order to customize your chosen "Kimis". It's like Photoshop running in your browser. Then after all the customization, you can either save your "Kimi" or share it to your friends via e-mail or thru your blog, website or social networking page. The steps are simple but the customization interface is kinda tricky. I'm still learning how to use it because I just started.

Anyway, if you want to have "Kimis" for you or your friends, try Imikimi, the url is http://www.imikimi.com. I don't have a sample "Kimi" to share for now but I assure you, it's worth all the effort.

Your Karmic Alignment is: Yin & Yang!

I took a Karma Test online at True Life Karma and below is the result. The test has four parts: Moral, Physical, Mental and Emotional. You must answer all four parts of the test to get your result. Then you can let your friends know by e-mailing them or by posting your result to your website or social networking page.

Your Karmic Alignment is: Yin & Yang!

Score: 4 You have a neutralized Karmic Energy, your Yin & Yang is balanced. This is not a bad thing. You might sway a little more positive or negative, but you don't hold a huge debt accumulation. Don't forget, it is very easy to let your karmic energy sway more negative or positive depending on your actions and intentions.

If you want to take this test too, you can visit True Life Karma at http://www.truelifekarma.com. The thing that I liked most about this site is the book, you'll know what I mean when you visit the site and by taking the test.

cool widgets for your blog or social networking page

What are widgets anyway? A widget or rather a web widget is a third party item that can be embedded in a web page. It can be a video, your customized photo/photos or a music player like imeem. There are a lot of cool widgets that you can embed in your social networking page or blog. Below are some samples of the most common widgets used.

Slide Shows - you can customize photos with different transitions, backgrounds, themes, skins and music that you can share with your family and friends online; a more artistic approach in representing your photos, kind of like a moving album

FunPix or PhotoFx - you can spice up your favorite photo by adding effects, wigs, hats, glitter and more

Fun Notes - tired of simple comments? add some twist by inserting your message to hundreds of cool pictures and templates

SkinFlix - spice up your favorite You Tube video and make it your own with this cool widget, you can add cool frames or themes

The above widgets can be found at Slide and Rock You. It's up to you what you want to use. I myself have a cool slide show at my friendster and hi5 accounts.

One advice though, don't post too many widgets especially on your social networking page, because your page might load very slow even if you're using a dsl connection. Too many just doesn't work, don't over-crowd your page.
